APRIL/MAY Prayer Letter

Dear Fellow Prayer Warriors,

Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord Jesus Christ. We trust that this letter finds everyone faithfully serving the Master. "The harvest is truly plenteous but the labourers are few". Things here in St. Lucia are just as busy as usual. The past couple of months we have been involved in men's retreat, revival meetings, youth meetings, etc. Sometimes it is hard to put down on paper the many blessings God gives to His children. It is truly wonderful to be in the work of the Lord.

Last month (April) I had the opportunity to travel to the island of Bequia for a little evangelistic adventure. Pastor Harry is a national pastor in St. Vincent who has started several churches on that island. God has burdened his heart for the sister island of his called Bequia. He made a plea for others to help in his vision for this island Bro. Nye, Pastor Philbert, and myself responded to his cry. We traveled to St. Vincent and took a boat ferry to the/neighboring island. The island of Bequia is only 7 squafe miles with a population of over 5,000 people. The island has the normal churches of religion ( Catholic, Seventh‑Day Adventist, JW, Charismatics, etc...) but no Bible Believing Baptist church. We were present on the island for several days with Pastor Harry and had the privilege of leading 4 young men and 1 older man to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Since then Pastor Harry has begun weekly Bible studies on the island. He travels on Thursdays to Bequia to minister and comes back to St. Vincent on Friday morning. Pastor Harry is 65 years of age and has been planting churches for 20 or more years. This dear brother is on fire for God and has a vision for lost souls and says retirement is not part of his plan. Thank God for the privilege to encourage someone's vision for souls. We will be returning to Bequia in July to aid Bro. Harry in an evangelistic meeting. Please pray for this work.

Grace Baptist Church that we started here in St: Lucia continues to serve the Lord and souls continue to be won for Christ. I am preaching through the book of Nehemiah on Sunday nights in the church. The messages have inspired God's people to "Build the Walls of their Jerusalem". The ladies recently got jealous because we have men's soul winning night but no ladies night for visitation. The ladies got with my wife for several weeks and she taught them how to win souls. They are really excited about trying to reach their village for Christ.

Please pray earnestly that souls will continue to be saved in Grace. Thank you very much for your prayers and financial support. May the Lord continue to bless everyone serving Him.

                     Bro. Mike and Family

FEBRUARY/MARCH Prayer Letter

Dear Fellow-Laborers in Christ,

Greetings in the wonderful name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thanks be to God for blessing all of us with a brand new year to serve Him faithfully. We thank you for your prayers and financial support in the year 2001. We give the Lord all the honor, glory, and praise for the souls being saved and lives being changed this past year. We are looking forward to seeing what God is going to perform in our lives and in the ministry in 2002.

As we begin this new year, Grace Baptist Church has the following Christ- honoring goals set before them:

# 1 Everyone will be a faithful soul winner

# 2 More people saved, baptized, and discipled

# 3 Every member reading through the Bible at LEAST one time

# 4 Giving to Faith Promise Missions

# 5 Seeking to buy property

# 6 Youth Camp to be held in August

# 7 Praying God would give us a musician

Please help us pray that God would fulfill these requests in 2002.

During the month of February I had the privilege to go to Trinidad for 5 days and take part in a Faith Promise Missions Conference. The meeting was held by Charity Baptist Church missionary James Hoffmeister. The meeting was truly a success. Several people were saved and believers strengthened during the week. Their faith promise commitment was over $2,000(US) annually. This is not bad concerning the church is not even a year old and still growing. We thank God for the work that Bro. James is doing in Trinidad.

During the last week in February, Pastor Joel Logan from the Sweet Springs Baptist Church in Ardmore, AL came to St. Lucia to preach a Missions Conference for the Ambassador Baptist Church (National Work). Due to the fact that Bro. Logan is my pastor's brother, we held a special church service on Sunday afternoon at the Grace Baptist Church. God really blessed!! It was a record breaking attendance of 57! Two ladies trusted Christ as Saviour and many of God's people were on the altar. Also our church attended the Missions Conference and 2 more souls were saved, and Grace got fired up about giving to Missions. After Bro. Logan left for the U.S., the meeting was extended for 2 more days for an evangelistic thrust. I preached for those 2 nights and 5 more people trusted Christ as Saviour. The total souls being saved for the week was well over 10. Glory be to God!!! It is a good thing to be involved in the work of the Lord. Please continue to pray for our family as we serve in St. Lucia.
