My name is William Bishop.  I am 63 years old.  I have been Pastor at Beacon Baptist Church for about 16 years.  My wife and I have been married for almost 43 years.  We have 3 children and 9 grandchildren.  I have lived in Alabama for 31 years.
I have been saved since July 1963, almost 43 years now.  I was raised in upper-state New York in a devout Roman Catholic family, and I remained one until 21 years of age.  In those 21 years, I never heard the gospel one time. After leaving home and joining the USMC, I was asked to go on a blind date, which I did.  This is how I met my wife.  But most of all, because of that blind date, I met someone else, the Lord Jesus Christ.  That meeting changed my life forever.  In July1963, on a Saturday evening, my whole future took a turn for the best.  I asked Jesus Christ to come into my heart and life and save my soul, and He did.  I found out that day that religion, any religion, being good, or doing good, or being a part of a particular church could not save you.  I found out that only Jesus could save you, because He alone paid the price for our redemption.

I discovered that the Holy Bible, the King James 1611, contains things that religions can never reveal, and in a lot of cases don’t want you to know or even try to hide. That one book contains the only real source of blessings I have ever known.  I personally believe the book is perfect, without error, and contains everything God wants us to know.

If you are out there and don’t know which way to turn, and you have tried everything else, I urge you to try Jesus Christ; He never fails. We are not perfect, but we believe the Book. If you are interested in what God has done, is doing, and will do, come pay us a visit; admission is free.  So is the gift of eternal life. Come and see that the Lord is good.  Give yourself and your family a real chance at eternal life.  God has done so much for America and us.  Isn’t it time we returned some of His love?
